Elections Coming up in Cambodia

This January, Cambodia will hold its third ever Senatorial election. As the date grows nearer, tensions grow with allegations that the leading opposition party, the SRP, has been violating human rights by forcing its members to swear loyalty to the party and relinquish their cell phones.  Sam Rainsey, the leader of the opposition party, was charged with racial incitement and property destruction  in 2009 after he encouraged villagers to remove border markers during a land dispute with Vietnam.  Today Rainsey resides in Australia.  To find out more about accusations the Cambodian government is making against the SRP, check out the URL below from The Phnom Penh Post:
