Katherine (GROW Coordinator)
I’m a sophomore studying Public Health at the UW, and this year’s GROW Coordinator. When I’m not stressing about GROW, I’m also making terrible puns, drinking bubble tea, and taking buzzfeed quizzes (if I were a potato, I would be tater tots). When I’m in India, I’m determined to ride an elephant, visit the Taj Mahal, and drink obscene amounts of chai. I’m so excited to go on this amazing adventure with the coolest people I know!
Major: Intending Public Health/Nursing Major
Age: 21 years old! (whewww that’s old!)
Hobbies: Running, yoga, singing, watching Modern Family and Parenthood!
Interests: Mental Health, Medical work, Psychology
Most excited about GROW: getting to meet all of the great people! and not gonna lie pretty pumped about the food and getting to do yoga on the roof every morning! EEEKK
Hi, I’m Eugene Hsu. I’m a freshman without an intended major yet. Having visited various countries in Europe and Asia, I’m pretty excited about exploring India’s culture for the first time, going vegetarian for the first time, and riding an elephant.
I am a 3rd year student majoring in both Medical Anthropology/Global Health and Biology. I have been part of GlobeMed (GM) for 2 years and am excited to be a part of the GROW Team since GROW is the definition of the GM partnership model. I can’t wait to learn more about the MINDS Foundation and their work since mental health is usually something that is stigmatized and very much hidden from public view. I hope to one day take my global experiences and bring it home to the US and fight for our right to health and healthcare, especially by improving these through social justice activism.
