GlobeMed at the University of Washington is one of many university-based chapters throughout the U.S. aiming to strengthen the movement for global health equity.
Our mission is to empower students and communities to work together to improve the health of the impoverished around the world. To achieve this each individual chapter is connected with a grassroots organization , and through this partnership, a long term relationship is created in order to develop the most sustainable projects for improving health, one community at a time.
Our focus is not on creating a ‘new tool’, for we believe that solutions to pervasive issues of poverty already exist. We are going with organic simplicity, in the fact that our solution is utilizing the energy, passions and resources of students in the United States to partner with the real change makers – the people of the communities around the world we are trying to reach.
We are a growing network of 1,500 students and 50+ grassroots partners that span across 4-continents and 19-countries.
We believe that health is a human right and a matter of social justice. Through our involvement today, we commit to a life of leadership in global health and social justice.
